What is the virtue of a proportional response? Why is it good?

This morning I was reading the Washington Post. One of the articles was about the healthcare reform bill that passed in Congress right before they let out for the holidays. Congress was pressured to pass the bill and just barely squeaked by. Today, Congress reconvenes for the first time since Christmas and they are now going to face the truth of the bill. They have wasted a whole year trying to get all of the kinks worked out, when they could have been working on something a little more productive. It will be 2013, if the bill passes again, before ANY changes are seen. So, a question comes up...why is this good? Why do they believe that this is the answer to the United States' healthcare problems?

These questions have yet to be answered by House Democrats who support the bill. I don't see how this will end the healthcare issue. It is a very tough for me to stand behind something that the majority of Republicans and some Democrats originally voted 'no' for. Kind of makes you think....

Meanwhile, in the world of sports, Mark McGuire FINALLY admitted to the use of steroids. No surprise here. Now, if Sammy will just admit that he used, we can finally move on from the '98 season.

I could officially stop tuning into Fox News now that Sarah Palin will be appearing. The out of work politician, who says she may be running 2012, will now have a spot on the O'Reilly Factor (one of my favorite shows). In my opinion, she will totally be discrediting the show. If Palin runs in 2012 and is supported by the GOP, they will be even more criticized by Americans.

Those are just a few of my thoughts....

I Drink From the Keg of Glory!!

It's been quite a while since I have written anything on here. So, there are a few things that I would like to mention:

Last week, this world lost a fabulous woman. Her name was Shirley Ivey and she was simply amazing. She is responsible for teaching many people from birth through adulthood. She was always someone that you could count on and look to for an encouraging smile and words of inspiration. For those of us who knew her, we are MUCH better people for having her in our lives.

Recently, thanks to several people, I have been watching all seven seasons of the magnificent show: The West Wing. For those of you who are not familiar with this show, it is about President Bartlet (played by Martin Sheen) and his staff during his 8 year term as POTUS. This show has made me a smarter person. If you have not seen this show, may I highly recommend it.

Christmas was absolutely amazing. It was very nice to relax and very nice to eat all of my favorite foods. It was also nice having some of my family here. I'm so glad that my Aunt Erin is back especially for my mother's sake. I also enjoyed seeing old friends that I haven't seen in a while. I really look forward to the New Year and wish everyone a great start to whats to be a great year!
